1. What is the Study Area?
Highway 6 from 4th Concession West southwards to Highway 6 and Highway 403 interchange.
Highway 5/Dundas Street from west of Highway 6 (Coreslab Drive) to Clappison Avenue.
2. How does the environmental assessment process work?
This project followed the approved planning process for Group “B” projects under the MTO Class Environmental Assessment for Provincial Transportation Facilities (2000), with the opportunity for stakeholder/public input throughout.
One Public Information Centre (PIC) was held for this Detail Design study on May 23, 2024. Details on the date, time, and location of this PIC were posted to the Consultation Page of this website and sent to all contacts on the project mailing list.
The Detail Design Study is now complete. The Design and Construction Report (DCR) comment period closed on January 23, 2026. Information on this website is provided for reference purposes only.
3. Have the Municipalities been involved in the Project?
The Project Team have consulted with staff from the City of Hamilton throughout the Study, particularly before key milestones in the Project.
4. Will external agencies be contacted during the Preliminary Design Study?
Yes.
5. How can I get involved in the Study?
The Detail Design Study is now complete. The Design and Construction Report comment period ended on January 23, 2026. Information on this website is provided for reference purposes only. No further comments are being collected at this stage.
A new Construction‑Phase project website will be launched when construction begins. Contract Administration contact information will be shared at that time. It is anticipated that the new website will provide timeline and detour information.
6. Who do I contact for more information about the Project?
Construction team contacts will be provided on the new construction‑phase website when construction begins. Until then, no additional project enquiries are being collected through this site.
